Atascosa Vision Source is very privliged to have Dr. Stephen Planchet as primary optometrist. Dr. Planchet carries his experience from the U.S. Army, where at only 32 years of age he was promoted to the rank of Major and assigned as the clinic director and medical director of eye care services for a hospital. He has hospital-based practice in the treatment of eye disease, ocular emergencies, fitting contact lenses, co-management of laser surgery, and children’s eye exams.
“I really care about people. This profession gives me the opportunity to work with people, improve their lives, and build long lasting relationships. I have always wanted to be in a profession that gives to the community, and helps make peoples lives a little better. I strive to be a caring, family oriented doctor.”
Dr. Planchet is therapeutically certified and is an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.

Gilbert, Certified Optician
Gilbert is an Optician with over 25 years of experience. He has taken care of thousands of patients at Atascosa Vision Source since 1990. He has vast experience in several aspects of opticianry including Optometric Technician, Frame Stylist, Dispensing Contacts, Eyeglasses, Laboratory Service and Computer Literacy. "As a board certified optician, my goal is to provide each of our patients with the best possible eyewear for their individual lifestyles. My goal is to make sure each of our patients is 100% satisfied. We guarantee it with our 2 year warranty on frames and glasses with no added charge."

Tina, Frame Stylist
Tina is our premier Frame Stylist. She understands that your choice of eyewear is a reflection of your personality and part of the image you present to the world.
"We have over 600 of the finest frames to select from, such as Fendi, Polo, Coach, Calvin Klein, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Ray Ban, and Oakleys. I work with each patient one-on-one to choose the color, shape, and style that compliments your lifestyle and visual needs." We never forget that the purpose of eyewear is to correct and protect your vision. If we do not have the frame you want, we will order it!

Linda, Billing & Insurance Specialist
Linda will greet you with a smile and a warm "Welcome to Atascosa Vision Source." She is always ready to help out our patients with whatever questions or needs that might arise. If you have a question, Linda will do her best to find you an answer. On the phone, Linda always answers with "We are really glad you called" and she means it. "We try to provide the best eyecare in a 50 mile radius. Each patient will be treated with the utmost respect and all information will be kept private. We really enjoy getting to know all our patients and their families.
